To all disenchanted members of the UNC, The time has come for us to take back the UNC from those who stole it from you in 2010. The UNC must no longer continue to be saddled with the corruption, mismanagement, and nepotism of the PPgovernment. The PPG is not the UNC, and the UNC is not the PPG, yet we the members of the UNC, are taking all the flack for all the nonesense they are doing. They purport to be acting in the name in the name of the UNC but when last did you the ordinary members had a say in what they are doing? The opportunists that rode your backs into power now treat you the rank and file of the Party as though you were dirt and thrash. they reap the rewards of your labours. Even the COP are becoming concerned with the fact that they are being tarnished with the corruption of the PPG. They are finding difficulty in extricating themselves from the incompetence and corruption of the PPG. How can they when they are an integral part of the Government? We must separate ourself from the PPG. We must speak to them and not them to us. We must start by taking back our Party, the UNC which we built with our blood, sweat and tears. In order for us to take back the Party from the opportunists, psychophants, and incompetents we must put up a full slate at the next internal elections of the Party which takes place on the 24th March, 2012--or so they say. The theme of our struggle is GENERATION NEXT!!! I shall be speaking to you from time to time advising on how we shall proceed. In the meantime, Keep your sights on the eye of the bird and STAND TALL!!! Basdeo Panday adviser to GENERATION NEXT |

2012 : A year of Challenge for us, the loyal members of the UNC
Dear sufferers of the UNC,
It is Christmas Day. Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy (even if not prosperous) New Year. The New Year holds for us, the loyal members of the UNC, a very exciting year. It is the year of the UNC internal elections, and we must use the occasion to take back our Party - the UNC - from those who stole it from us a year ago, and are now having people tarnish our great Party with their corruption, deceit and false promises and wastage of public funds.
I wish to make it abundantly clear that we do not want to take over or remove the PP Government from office; we want them to perform; we want them to fulfill the promises they made to us; we want them to stop treating the rank and file of the UNC as if we were garbage, while giving the fruits of our labours to the opportunists, the sychophants and the johnnies-come-lately. We must stand up and tell them they cannot do that!
In order to be able do so the Party must be separate from the Government. We must be so independent of the Government that we must be strong enough to speak to them and tell them how we feel about what they are doing wrong. As it is now how can the Party speak to the Government when Ministers of the Government are also Officers of the Party and control the National Executive? Instead, they are telling us what to do, like wrapping hampers and pampers and putting letters in hundreds of envelops, and being ushers at the scores of fetes. That is not what the Party is for. The function of the Party is to protect its members and influence the Government to do so.
Besides, Ministers are too busy with their Ministries to look after the interest of the members of the UNC. They don't visit their Constituency Offices; you can not even get in touch with them any more; the have changed their telephone numbers or they wont answer it if you know how to call them. How can they run the Party? They are too busy travelling all over the world. and we can tell them nothing because they control our voice in the Party.
The only answer is to take back the UNC. To do this you must do the following immediately:
(1) Make sure you are eligible to vote in the upcoming internal elections of the Party.
(2) Make sure your name is on the voters list of the Party. Remember the last time?
(3) On the day of the elections make sure you vote and vote for the slate of the GENERATION NEXT.
We shall be putting up a complete state of candidates. No Minister of the PP Government shall be on our slate.
Keep up the struggle. Hold your heads high and Stand Tall!! Stand Tall!!!
I shall continue to communicate with you from time to time to give directions of how we must proceed. the response has been wonderful so far!!!
